HBA 2011 IPDA Finalists Announced

Packaging selections range across 11 categories.

May we have the envelope please? On June 28th, as the first day of the eagerly awaited HBA Global Expo draws to a close, winners of the coveted International Package Design Awards (IPDA) will be announced at 4:45pm at a ceremony at Booth No. 721, shared by Beauty Packaging and Happi magazines, sponsors of the annual competition. Throughout the three-day show at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, attendees can view all of the finalists in the IPDA Showcase incorporated within the booth area.

As the importance of the awards grows in stature, entries have increased, with more than 200 products entered across 11 categories this year. For 2011, an additional two categories were added, reflecting two major trends in the industry: Sampling/Travel Size Packaging and Tools/At Home Devices Packaging. Generally there are four finalists per category. However, due to a higher volume of entries in Personal Care Mass, a decision was made to select five finalists in this category only.

A committee of 100 industry professionals voted on the impressive packaging projects for the finalists selection. We can’t wait to learn of the winners!

Following are this year’s finalists in each of the 11 categories: Cosmetics Mass, Cosmetics Prestige, Fragrance Mass, Fragrance Prestige, Personal Care Mass, Personal Care Prestige, Skin Care Mass, Skin Care Prestige, Green Packaging, Sampling/Travel Size Packaging, and Tools/At Home Devices Packaging.
